Older Toddlers
Our Older Toddlers enjoy a playroom
filled with educational toys and have a curriculum that
emphasizes having fun while learning
to use crayons, put simple puzzles together,
listen to music and
develop their vocabulary. |
|
Young 2 Year Olds
The younger 2 year olds begin
to practice sharing and development of social skills. Simple
songs and stories teach language usage. Scribbling with crayons
throwing balls and sand and water play increase gross and fine
motor skills. |

|

 |
Older 2 Year Olds
In the older 2 year old class
language development is expanded through the use of books and
songs. We encourage the use of complete sentences. Gross and
fine motor skills are increased through the use of block
building, climbing, dancing and riding a trike. Creative pretend
play is part of our everyday learning program and fun for all of
our 2 year olds. |
|
Three Year Olds
In our
three-year old classroom the children begin to learn to
follow simple
directions, retell stories and repeat simple rhymes. They play
with balls and blocks and ride trikes. They are taught to print
their name. The children also enjoy creating their own
style of
arts and crafts, as well as group play and games. |

 |
Four
Year Olds
Our four year olds have begun
to enjoy
words and their curriculum includes rhymes, songs, simple poetry and stories
which are
incorporated into their daily classroom learning time. They are
given pencils and crayons to begin drawing and writing.
During the year they will
learn their name, age, their parent’s name and telephone number. The
children enjoy playing games to learn to count to 20 and name their colors. Group play
now
emphasizes taking turns and sharing. Fantasy play is
expressed through the family living and dramatic play center.

Pre-Kindergarten
Our Pre-Kindergarten class
has a good command of language and retell stories with pictures
and they enjoy beginning reading. Our teachers work with the
children to learn to tell time and understand money and
recognize coins. The children develop good pencil control while
practicing writing and learn their numbers above 20 to get ready
for the transition to Kindergarten. Rainbow has a Cap and Gown
Graduation in the Spring to celebrate the accomplishments of the
children.
