Special Events

Rainbow older students enjoy regular seasonal field trips to special events and performances. Transportation is provided by St Tammany Public School buses or private automobiles. Parents are encouraged to join us!

Rainbow Celebrations it's 25th year! 2008 was a very  exciting year as Rainbow celebrated 25 years of providing quality child care with an educational program preparing the children to be ready to learn when entering Kindergarten

The Lollipop Concert  Rainbow Child Care Pre-K children enjoy the children's concert sponsored by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and presented by the Northshore High School talented music students.

The Pumpkin Patch Sponsored by First United Methodist  Church volunteers assist in an art area, read in the storybook corner, play games, and give each child Halloween candy and  a pumpkin to take home.

Christmas Under the Stars  sponsored by the City of Slidell invites the children to come and see the Parade of trees, the winter train and ski display.   The children then meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and talk about what they would like for Christmas.

Thank you Sam Carver, Slidell Airport manager, for providing a wonderful Christmas celebration for the Rainbow children.

Christmas at the Slidell Airport, is a fun filled morning of activities, organized each year by Mrs. Claus, Felicia Carpenter.  Each child talks to Santa Claus, Tim Lynch, the jump instructor who parachutes from a helicoper to the runway.  Santa gives each child a gift provided by John Saucier.  Many of the pilots volunteer their planes to participate in a "parade" throwing candy to the excited children.  Tommy Van Ness, FBO Operations (refueling the planes), coordinates a pizza party ending with cookies and milk.

We appreciate all of the volunteers who work so hard each year to make Christmas special for each child.
